Akella jest twórcą gier wideo. Firma Akella zaczęła działać na rynku już przed 2000 rokiem. Jednym z jej pierwszych projektów była gra Sea Dogs: Piraci. Firma swoje gry wydaje samodzielnie. Przy wydawaniu swoich gier Akella współpracuje m.in. z firmą bitComposer Games. Ostatnim dziełem twórcy jest Disciples III: Reincarnation. Premiera produkcji nastąpiła 14 lutego 2014.

Postal 3 zniknął ze sprzedaży na Steamie, o czym na Twitterze poinformowali twórcy większości odsłon serii. Według nich „trójka” to śmieć.
