Tym razem jednak organizatorzy postanowili uwzględnić dodatkową zachętę do uczestnictwa w tym wydarzeniu. Za sprawą firmy Green Man Gaming głosujący na oficjalnej stronie plebiscytu otrzymają dwie gry – Sid Meiers Pirates! oraz Spec Ops: The Line jak również tajemniczy pakiet od sponsora za 1 euro (bądź dolara lub funta, w zależności od miejsca zamieszkania). Wypada zaznaczyć, że drugą z tych produkcji dostaną jedynie osoby powyżej 18. roku życia. W październiku organizatorzy skontaktują się z zainteresowanymi w sprawie odbioru prezentów.
Zwycięzców 34. gali Golden Joystick Awards poznamy w połowie listopada.
W tym roku gracze mogą głosować w 21 kategoriach, a w szranki stają tytuły z bieżącego oraz z ostatnich miesięcy 2015 roku. Gry możecie docenić m.in. ze względu na najlepszą akcję w ramach e-sportu, najlepszy występ aktorski oraz najbardziej emocjonujące momenty w grach. Na liście nie zabrakło polskich akcentów w postaci strzelanki SUPERHOT oraz ostatniego dodatku do trzeciego Wiedźmina, a we wszystkich kategoriach znalazło się wiele produkcji niezależnych (m.in. Firewatch, Undertale oraz Abzu). Dochodzą do tego cztery wyróżnienia komisji ekspertów.
